Issue 10/08

Monday, 11th June 2007

In Vogelweh the PX had a Father’s night on Friday between 18.00 and 20:00, Paul Worrall stayed and helped with this promo by giving advice on shirt and tie combo’s to the wives and daughters (especially the daughters 18 years and older!!!!). We also offered a free shirt and tie in a draw to help attract the customers. All this was greatly appreciated by AAFES Management and it was good PR for Alexandre London.

Father and Son

Europe Notes from John Collins

This week even though we did not beat area target we did come close - so how did we do:

  % Target % Last Year
Made to Measure (inc. shirts) 111% 42%
Ready to Wear 96% 142%
Total 98% 97%

As you can see even though we may have thought that ready-made sales were not going too well during the week, we actually beat last year by 142%.

We also beat Made-to-measure target by 111% which included an order for 7 shirts out of Kaiserslautern, but sales were a disappointment compared to last year with only 42% achieved. Plus only seven branches actually put through made to measure sales this week.

The highest combined dollar trade for week 10 was:

  1. Lakenheath with $9075
  2. Ramstein $5990
  3. Kaiserslautern $5880

The highest combined % sales against target were:

    Sales $ Target %
Aafes - Europe Wurzburg 4,025 1,459 275.8
Aafes - Europe Lakenheath 9,075 5,692 159.4
Aafes - Europe Hanau 1,660 1,273 130.4
Aafes - Europe Stuttgart 4,420 3,769 117.3
Aafes - Europe Vilseck 3,720 3,341 111.3
Aafes - Europe Mannheim 3,075 2,978 103.3

I know that we all go to work to sell and it can be very upsetting when we do not sell anything or it is slow but just keep faith in yourselves and keep on doing what we do best:

SELL - SELL - SELL

Well done to you all.

Did we sell more shirts and ties ??I do not know but at least the customers if they did not know before, now know who to turn to for shirts, ties and of course suits.

Fathers Day

For this week, during the run up to Father's Day, for customers who do not wish to purchase a suit you can also offer:-

  • Cuff Links at $10 off
  • Ties at $10 off
  • Shirts at $10 off

2 Suit Special

Some Managers are taking their own initiative and have placed the 2 Suit Special fabrics on a board as opposed to displaying them in the bunch. We are receiving very positive reports from both customers and Managers alike and if you are not a Manager who has done this it is a good TIP for you which just may lift business this week.

Good luck to you all in the trading week ahead and if there is any help that you need to lift sales during this week please contact Tracey Roberts or Mark Fletcher.
