2007

Europe - Notes from Bernie Collins

The area in week 41 just crept in at 100% of combined target and 112% of last year so well done to all.

Seven branches again recorded a zero trade on made to measure despite the 2 suit special beginning. Take a tip from John Collins who achieved trade of $2576 by mounting the cloths on a board as opposed to in a bunch. John says that this visual aid helps to attract passers by with the board purchased from a local Bauhaus Store and claimed back on expenses.

The RM sale details will be released shortly therefore this should help sales for this week so good luck to you all, let’s try and make up the shortfall before the end of this financial year.

USA - Notes from Andy Schofield

A strong week this week for many branches with seven beating combined target!

POS for the current Made to Measure sale is now in branches and the first week has been a strong one, beating last years figure by 114%, but short of target by 86%. I am sure that we’ll beat the numbers in week 42, once the word is out about the great 2 suit offer we have on.

Have you called or emailed your customers about the MM sale??

Ready Made’s are heading in the right direction but only managed to hit 85% of target. Now is the time to re-merchandise the department and give it a fresh look. Try some different ranges at the front of the department – change those displays out and see if the store will let you put some displays out in the forecourt (If you haven’t already).

Here's how we did:-

  • FORT DIX MCGUIRE - 115% Combined Target Achieved – Welcome back to the top three Nicky! – Must have missed us last week!
  • ANDREWS AFB - 114% COMBINED TARGET ACHIEVED – Great job this week Roger and Nathan, you really helped the team with the increased biz!
  • FORT LEWIS - 114% COMBINED TARGET ACHIEVED – Well Done Dave!

Honourable mentions also go to:-

FORT CARSON, HENDERSON HALL AND NELLIS AFB – 101% COMBINED TARGET ACHIEVED. Just over the line, those extra add on sales make all the difference. Well done to Paul, Rahim and Allan.

Quantico who as you know are now only trading on 270 Sq. Ft. from 800 previously (Due to the store renovation), also managed to hit 100% of target – Excellent job Mark and Yuko, they are having a hard time just keeping the dust off everything at the moment!

Well done to all of you that managed to beat your target this week. For those of you that didn’t – could that extra shirt and tie sale have made a difference??

Good luck for this week! Andy

New Made to Measure Size Chart for New Block

As a follow up to the introduction of the new made to measure block, Kevin Roche has supplied a chart which shows the measurements which are currently used for a typical off the rack garment. As the block is now the same for both garments this chart can be used as a guide when ordering a made to measure garment. All measurements must be completed on the order form.

Outstanding USA Tie Delivery

The issue that we had with our tie delivery in customs has now been resolved and the delivery has been despatched from UTI for delivery to all stores this week.

A Sad Day By Jamie Turner 3291 Bermuda

It is with great sadness that I must report the untimely passing of Alex - The Japanese Fire Fighting Fish - from the Bermuda team. He passed away in his sleep peacefully last night after serving us for 2 ½ years with distinction, never leaving the department, even through Hurricanes! In his passing, he leaves behind his Brothers Mark, Jamie and the whole Alexandre Family. We will be taking a minutes silence at 11am Bermuda time and his last request was that I carry on his work and smash the year’s target.

Regards, Jamie
