Green fields and blue sky

USA - Notes from Andy Schofield

A vastly improved weeks trading last week guys and girls. Some of you did amazing and some that were doing well, struggled – more of that later.

Overall we finished the week cumulatively with 97% of Target and 96% of Last year. Ready Made is still struggling as customers are looking for next season’s stock and as we all know sizes are running thin. The good news here that one container has just docked and the other is set to leave before the end of the week, so new stock will be hitting stores momentarily. Start to think about where you are going to put your new stock, have a “Game Plan” ready to go!

Made to Measure did very well thanks to one branch that single handedly did the target on Measures alone.

We finished the week 229% above Target and 157% of Last Year. An excellent achievement.

Who were the Star Performers Last Week??

FORT BELVOIR – Here’s your Star Player of the quarter – this week the branch managed to do $8930 on Measures alone! But on Ready Made also did $6155 for a total of $15085… WOW! As mentioned Steve assisted through the week by Nathan and Amanda pulled out all the stops and had a bumper week. Steve has mentioned that the main draw to the department this week was the final week of the Merchants Sale and the re-dressed models and re-merchandising that was done earlier. Well done guys, you really saved the team this week.

FORT BRAGG – She’s here again guys! Adelle continues to hit the top three spots reaping the benefits of her work earlier in the year with Fashion Shows. Adelle makes sure that her regular customers and new customers know about her new promotions and ensures they all get an email or a call to ask them “Why?” they haven’t come in to buy! Great Result Adelle with 155% cumulatively.

LANGLEY AFB – Great to see this branch in the top three this week. Dave has had it rough the last couple of months with low foot fall and “Discount Shoppers” in the store. It seemed that the only things customers would buy had to be Clearance! Not the highest amount on the books this week, but Dave made every sale count and came in with 124% cumulative. Well done Dave.

Fort Sam Houston and Fort Dix also beat their targets this week to ensure the team came close to hitting the target – Well done guys…. Keep it going!

Welcome Back!!

Back from the “Other side” is Drew Meek who will be doing some relief for us in McChord and Fort Lewis in weeks 18, 19 & 20. Drew will be covering for Dave’s vacation and is also testing the waters to see if he wants to come back to Alexandre permanently and run McChord and the West Coast Relief operation. Let’s all give Drew a warm welcome back and make sure that his short time with us is an enjoyable one – so that he stays!

Dave France has all of his ducks in a row and will be travelling to Vancouver on Friday 31st August to complete the first road-show there. Vancouver Barracks should prove to be a “Nice little earner” for us and Dave is excited to be going to the base, at the request of the areas G.M. and is preparing for his 3 hour drive – with the GM! Well done Dave on securing this new venture, I am sure it’ll bring in some much needed revenue for us.

Good Luck This Week Everyone ... Andy.

Overseas Factory Holidays

Just a reminder that the factory will be on holiday from Saturday, 11th August through Sunday, 19th August therefore there will be no despatches during that time.

Shirt Stickers

Please remember to use the new shirt stickers on your shirts advertising the new sale prices, they should prove to be a good selling aid and will help to clear older stock.

The Top Managers / branches this week on Ready to Wear are:

  • Dave Tindell in Wurzburg came in top at 139% of Target. Well done Dave.
  • Gary Bloom next storming away in Lakenheath at 134% of Target
  • Vince Blackett in Stuttgart came in second with 127% of Target. Added to that Vince beat target in both Aviano and Garmisch this week.

Well done guys. Keep up the good work.

On Made to Measure, the sales came in from 5 branches alone and each one smashed through their target. - Congratulations to :-

  • Wurzburg Dave Tindell 1227%
  • Lakenheath Gary Bloom 446%
  • Aviano Vince Blackett 237%
  • Chievres Dave Cox 220%
  • Wiesbaden Geoff Berry 216%

The 30% / 50% sale has now started and if you use Panama as your starting price at 30% and 50% off, this gives you a good lead in price for the younger customer who could be persuaded to buy from made to measure.

You also have a good RM sale and replenishments on your core line so you have all the tools of the trade by your side this weekend.

Good luck and good trading.

Tracey.
