Europe - Notes from John Collins
Week 03
A very good week all round despite low footfall being reported in most stores. If it was like this every week it would be fantastic.
It was a strange week with those who beat last year figures beat it convincingly and those who were below last year trade being extremely low.
Made to measure was not that bad but considering the sale we have on it was disappointing.
Military balls making up for the bulk of ready made sales which is probably why Made to measure was not as good as hoped.
Made to measure Last year 100%
Ready made Last year 120%
Combined Last year 117%
Outstanding Performances
WEEK 03:
Dave Tindell in Schweinfurt 251% on ready made against last year figures. It makes a difference when the troops are there.
Vince Blackett in Stuttgart turning in another stunning performance on ready made 251% of last year but unfortunately once again no made to measure. Everybody needs the suits NOW.
Alan Self in Heidelberg with 124% of last year ready made and 890% of last year. A very good start to the year up on both MM and RM against last year.
Gary Bloom in Lakenheath came in with 152% of last year on MM
Dave Cox in Chievres came in 161% of last year MM sales.
Geoff Berry /Leigh Poulton came in 165% of last year MM sales
Trevor Scarratt went to do his monthly visit to Baumholder and found the cupboard bare. Having $6970 sales to put through.
Vince Blackett with his trip to Italy and his regular store Stuttgart came in with total sales of $5530
WEEK 04:
It is nice to see another positive week with us coming on the plus side of last year. Once again we made hard work on the MM with only 4 branches and 1 part time branch taking any made to measure.
I know we keep going on but you need to push that bit extra on MM it is a harder sell but more money for you.
We were once again helped with the part time branches bring in $6000 between the 2 branches.
Made to measure Last year 99%
Ready made Last year 105%
Combined Last year 104%
Outstanding Performances
WEEK 04
Alan Self in Heidelberg with yet another good week. Made to measure $1690 compared to zero last year and ready made with another fantastic effort 157% of last year.
Dave Tindell in Schweinfurt 331% of last year ready made figures once again a great effort looks like we will be seeing Dave’s name more often this year.
Dave Cox in Chievres 260% of last year on MM and 157% on RM and also visiting Schinnen in Holland and bringing back $3595 in RM sales a great week Dave.
Geoff Berry and Leigh Poulton in Wiesbaden with 229% on last year’s RM figure but again no MM.
Let’s see who we see next time will it be you?
Into the 21st Century...
This year’s “Year End Review” was held February 18th in the UK and this one was a little different!
In past years, Andy (ASM for USA) and I have flown back to the UK and had the meeting in the boardroom with Peter Lucas, Tracey, Ben, Tom and Matthew. This year we went “Hi-Tech” and we held it via Video Conference… ME in Germany, Andy in the USA and the rest of the team (Peter Lucas, Tracey Roberts, Sandra Andrews, Ben Lucas, Steve Parr, Tom Seastron and Matthew Martin) in the Boardroom at Leeds.
Here’s a shot of the three way conference call going on:
(Andy & I deep in thought – listening to Tracey talk about conference agendas!) No Andy is not wearing a silly hat
While it was a new experience and there were a couple of small bugs, the overall meeting via video went well with real time response (you did not have to wait for the video to catch up) and it could be something we look at doing again in the future and who knows, it might be coming to a computer near you…. Very soon!
