California Fires

Europe - Notes from John Collins

The last two weeks I have been way from the area. As you all know I was in San Francisco week 12 having the overseas business review with MR Peter Lucas.

The Overseas Review meeting was attended by Ben, Tom, Steve, Tracey, myself, Mike (Macy’s), Ian (Bermuda) and Andy (USA) went well. Discussions included business last year and year to date, BIPs (Branch Improvement Program), new shop fits, stock, staff and the way forward.

I’ll be talking to you all individually over the next couple of weeks to discuss the business and how we take it forward into the year ahead & beyond and talk about some new and exciting developments. [ I did get to see the “golden gate bridge” although it was from afar]. Then I was on Holiday a week (school hols).

THE FIRST QUARTER

The first quarter of the year is over and as you can see there are a lot more branches that can make the yearly bonus in fact with a little more push and extra sales (shirts ties and cuff links are thankfully now in or will be this week) the majority will make the required 101% of target to earn that $500.

Look at your branch, stock and footfall and see what you/ we can do to bring all branches into the 101% zone.

One way to get more business is to get the word out.

Push the exchange to place our name/display’s where ever they can.

Get those customer addresses for the mailing list (the more we have the more chance of more sales).

For those customers who are looking for a specific offer give out the info that we do have a web page where they can be kept up to date instead of just coming in on chance.

What ideas do you have let me know and I will put it in team talk so all know and can see if that idea works for them.

Keep up the good work of the 1st Quarter.

The only place you will find success before work
Is in the dictionary

Good luck & Good Trading.
John Collins.

Week 11

MM 239% of Target and 275% of last year
RM 71% of target and 83% of last year
Combined 85% Target and 98% of last year
Year combined totals Target 93% Last year 93%

MM again well up on both target and last year the longer sales seem to be working. RM unfortunately keeping with this year’s trend let us down.

Week 12

MM 1043% of Target and 2023% of last year
RM 99% of target and 180% of last year
Combined 122% Target and 220% of last year
Year combined totals Target 95% Last year 99%

RM target was missed by only $460 but we smashed last year due to the fact it was Easter week which fell later this year than last. MM was a fantastic week with a very low target we took advantage of that and pumped up the figures. Well done.

Week 13

MM 116% of Target and 130% of last year
RM 99% of target and 106% of last year
Combined 101% Target and 107% of last year
Year combined totals Target 95% Last year 100%

MM was once again up on both target and Last year you are certainly catching the customers. RM The proms are starting to happen which shows in the sale of black suits and small sizes.
