USA Issue 29

Week 29 was a tough one, even though we made target and beat last years numbers this was due to a good result from one of our Road-Shows – Carlisle Barracks, War College, which brought in $9,300. That amount helped us hit 100% target and pushed us over last year’s number by 106%

USA - Notes from Andy Schofield

Week 29 was a tough one, even though we made target and beat last years numbers this was due to a good result from one of our Road-Shows – Carlisle Barracks, War College, which brought in $9,300. That amount helped us hit 100% target and pushed us over last year’s number by 106%

Made to Measure suffered and going on your comments, was due to the last week of the school holidays in some areas and in others the kids return to school. Well, the good news is that all areas are now back in school, temperatures are starting to cool down so we should be hitting those target figures and smashing last year from here on out!

We have a cumulative target of $40,000 – We shouldn’t have any problems beating this or the $38,000 we did last year.

Tracey has re-issued the RM Summer Suit Sale E-Flyer to your customers that have left their email address on our www.alexandrelondon.com website. This should help “Jog” the memories of those customers that haven’t come in yet to take advantage of the sale.

Another container will be arriving at the warehouse soon so you should start to see winter items trickling through.

Remember though, you need to push your remaining Summer stock so that you can receive the newer ranges. I’ll be coming around in September / October to pick through your oddments and end of ranges to use in the road-shows.

SECURITY ISSUE

We had a security issue at Fort Myer this weekend.

This happened before Zaronda was in for the day so between 9am and 9:30am.

An individual came into the store, grabbed an 00738ST (48L) and a suit bag from under her back wall and then hurriedly walked straight out of the store… Security camera captured everything and it took approx 6 minutes from start to finish.

Obviously the main issue here is why in-store security didn’t catch the individual on camera but whilst the door alarm was beeping – thanks to the security devices Zaronda has on ALL her stock.

We are currently working with the Fort Myer / Henderson Hall joint base MP’s but you should alert your own security staff and let them know of the incident.

What Can You Do?

  • You should remove your suit bags off the floor and keep a couple in your cupboard.
  • Let local management and security know of the incident.
  • Let your Op’s manager and customer service team know that if they get a suit back in a 48L, product number 00738ST WITHOUT a receipt they SHOULD NOT exchange or refund it! Ask them to ALWAYS page you before refunding any Alexandre London items. Explain that these are owned by Alexandre London and we need to monitor our returns as well as sales.
  • Keep your eyes open – Be polite but be conscious of what’s happening in your area.
  • Try to employ the help of menswear staff when you are not there. Let neighbouring depts. know when you are leaving for lunch, breaks or for the day.

THAT TUX TIME OF YEAR AGAIN!

As we move closer to Thanksgiving (Can you believe it’s only 3 months away?!!) it’s time for us to be advertising our Made To Measure TUXEDO at a Ready Made Price - $425!!

Please make sure you have the poster board out and at the front of your department, advertising this great offer.

It may also be a good idea to pull your black fabrics and place them on the board with Velcro or double sided tape (Available at Staples / Office Depot etc).

There’s plenty of room to the right of the poster to do this.

This offer should run along side the upcoming Top Coat promotion and the 50% off promo that is set to start in a couple of weeks.

That’s three amazing offers on MM that you can offer your customers…

Can you say “Sheckles in the bank?!”

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

There are a few team mates that have anniversaries this month:

Roger Lansdell – Started 7th August 1995… 16 Years this month – Roger is the longest serving American Hire and will be the first to receive a 20 Year watch in another 4 years!

Dominic Gonzales – Started 18th August 1998… 13 Years this month – Congrats Dom!

Dave Nicholls – Started 6th August 1985… 26 years this month – Along way from Famous Army Stores up High St Dave! But glad to see you’re still keeping military in your working career!

Adelle Miller – Started 4th August 2006… 5 years this month – I’m sure Adelle will agree, that was a quick five years!

Andrew Meek – Started (Again!) 27th August 2007… 4 years this month – This was Drew’s second time around as he worked for us previously. Four and counting Drew!

Fabian Parodi – Started 1 August 2008… 3 years this month – I can’t believe it’s only been 3 years! Doing a great job in the back-ground at our Kamino warehouse.

These aren’t the staff with the most years or the shortest for that matter, but… it does seem weird that the month with the most current staff started, was August?!

I’m sure there’s some deep meaningful reasoning behind it – But I’m just glad to have you on my team!
